Peak Blonde, a beer in the heights of the High Fens
In Sourbrodt, Peak connects a contemporary brewery with the water and landscape of the High Fens. Its blonde combines a floral bouquet with notes reminiscent of mandarin.

A recent story at the top of the country
The Peak brewery is in Sourbrodt, in the municipality of Waimes and the Verviers district. Its official introductory route recounts a project conceived in 2016, a first brew in October 2017 and the opening to the public in early 2018. This beer needs no monastic origin: its personality comes from a contemporary venture and a very particular setting.
Peak means summit. Its creators explain that the logo brings together an outline of hills, a fir tree and boardwalks: three images associated with the High Fens. This is an easy detail to remember: even before a bottle is opened, the visual identity tells a landscape story. A brand image should not, however, be confused with unrestricted access to every nearby natural habitat.
The landscape becomes an ingredient
The brewery highlights High Fens water drawn near its facilities. This information is useful as a reminder that beer is not only about hops. Water is part of the brewer's work. The website also explains the roles of malt, yeast and hops, providing a good introduction to production for visitors discovering the craft.
Peak Blonde is listed at 6% ABV and described in floral and citrus terms, particularly reminiscent of mandarin. Dry hopping contributes to the aroma. This vocabulary refers to aromatic impressions: it does not automatically mean that the blonde's recipe includes juice from the fruit whose scent it recalls.
Understanding more rather than drinking more
The account of production follows the progression from brewing to fermentation, then maturation and packaging. A beer can thus become an accessible technical discovery. Even a small sample allows you to observe colour, head and the way the aroma develops. Nuances reveal themselves through attention, not greater quantities.
Check the visiting options and current arrangements before setting out. Plan a journey home without driving if a tasting is involved, and respect the rules of any walks you choose.
