Rochehaut Blonde, from grain to village

Brewed and bottled in Rochehaut, this 5.5% blonde combines barley, wheat and rye in a venture opened in 2019.

Bouillon Castle: a landmark in the municipality containing Rochehaut, not the brewery or beer.

A beer genuinely made in Rochehaut

Rochehaut Blonde comes from Rochehaut village, in the municipality of Bouillon and the Neufchâteau district. The official presentation specifies that beers are brewed and bottled on site. This deserves emphasis: a brand associated with a village and production genuinely established there are not always the same. Here, the brewery belongs to the contemporary landscape above the Semois.

A new chapter in October 2019

The brewery opened in October 2019 within the complex developed by the Boreux family. Arnaud Boreux explains in the Destination Ardenne profile that a beer was previously produced by third parties before their own facility was created. The opening date is therefore neither the village's age nor the first bottle bearing its name. Moving to on-site production is the genuine turning point.

Three grains and a fruity direction

The current Blonde description gives 5.5% ABV. It combines Belgian barley malt, wheat and rye, with spicy nuances and texture associated with grains. Fresh citrus and orchard-fruit impressions are attributed to yeast. Do not confuse this profile with the range's Triple Blonde or IPA. Rochehaut alone does not identify which balance, strength or recipe is meant.

Terroir also begins in a field

The Belgian Brewers organisation dossier describes an ambition to reintroduce local malting barley. Some barley is grown through a nearby supply chain involving the brewery. This agricultural dimension makes local beer concrete. It does not mean every ingredient in every bottle comes from one field: supply chain and transformation remain distinct links.

From landscape to brewhouse

The village connects discovering the Semois with current expertise. For visits, consult stated conditions and distinguish the brewery programme from other site activities. Old menus are not reliable for today's prices and times. The Bouillon Castle photo locates municipality and district only: it depicts neither Rochehaut's building, Blonde beer nor facilities.

Drink in moderation.
