The wines of Domaine Vins des Cinq
In Couthuin, four brothers and a sister chose vines to continue a family story. Whites, rosés and sparkling wines tell of renewed winegrowing on the Meuse's slopes.

Five family members, one shared hillside
In Couthuin, in the municipality of Héron and the district of Huy, Domaine Vins des Cinq connects winegrowing with a contemporary family story. Its name refers to the Grégoire family's four brothers and their sister. The estate dates its first plantings from 2018: the Meuse valley's older winegrowing past should therefore not be confused with the age of this business. The family's account.
The memory of the old Liège bottles their father made them clean before refilling them with wine illustrates this link between inheritance and a farming project. Vines were not the only consideration: the estate's account also gives an important place to the Wanhériffe woods, their conservation and biodiversity. This is a way to understand the landscape before even opening a bottle.
From grape to wine
The producer describes a south-facing slope with clay-loam soil over shale and sandstone. Its range includes white, rosé and sparkling wines. The Terres-de-Meuse tourist office mentions Chardonnay and several Pinot varieties among the estate's grapes. This information provides reference points; it does not support a promise of the same blend for every cuvée and vintage. The estate in local tourism.
Still and sparkling wines offer different styles: freshness, suppleness, fruit intensity and length on the finish vary between cuvées. An estate presentation connects these qualities with grape variety, year and work in the winery. Imposing a fixed aromatic profile on a living production would be misleading; information about the particular bottle remains the right reference.
Plan the encounter
